Is a PAPR better than N95?

Filter efficiency: Refers to the filtering ability of the respirator filter material itself for particulate matter.

N95: Can filter 95% of 0.3-micron non-oily particulate matter - 6.

PAPR: Usually uses HEPA high-efficiency filters, with a filtration efficiency of up to 99.97% or even 99.99% - 15-6.

PAPR: Usually equipped with a head cover or face shield, with a wide field of vision, and the ventilation system helps with heat dissipation, reducing fogging and facilitating communication.

N95: Only covers the mouth and nose, with unrestricted field of vision, but requires wearing a separate goggles.

3. Initial cost:

PAPR: High, a set of equipment may cost several thousand to tens of thousands of yuan.

N95: Low, the cost of a single unit is only a few yuan to several tens of yuan.

Long-term costs and maintenance: The PAPR host can be reused. The main consumables are filters and batteries, which need to be replaced and charged regularly. In the long run, the single-use cost may be lower.

N95: It is used once and needs continuous purchasing. The long-term cumulative cost is not low.
